Full-Time Job: iOS Engineer, New York, NY (Betaworks)

Job Title: iOS Engineer

Job location: New York, NY

Employer: Betaworks

Employment Type: Full-Time Job

Job Description

We’re on the hunt for a talented iOS developer to help us extend Poncho’s functionality and personality to the mobile world. We have big dreams of building the perfect weather app (we know, we know, many have tried and many have failed – but we are smarter and funnier than they are) and would love to add an equally passionate and intrepid mobile developer to our team.

You will be the first dedicated mobile engineer on the Poncho team (and you should be excited about that). You MUST have built and shipped at least one app in the App Store. We will be much more impressed if you have built an awesome product than if you’ve worked at a bunch of great companies but have nothing to show for it.

iOS Engineer | Requirement:

  • Be a product focused, self-reliant hacker who feels very comfortable working in a fast paced, iterative environment.
  • Be really, really smart.
  • Be comfortable standing up for what you believe in and pushing for the best possible performance and user experience.
  • Understand the balance of moving fast and writing organized, easily maintainable code.
  • Have some experience at a startup or in a similar environment.
  • Love building beautiful and simple things that go above and beyond to wow people.
  • Have experience creating apps that rely on web APIs.
  • Be a fan of interesting animations and/or custom mobile UIs.
  • Be super excited about all the latest and greatest technologies: New iOS 8 features! Swift! WatchKit!

Company Description

Poncho is a personalized and occasionally sassy daily weather update. We want to make weather forecasts not only accurate, but also personal. If you have never used Poncho before, give it a shot. We can’t imagine life without it.

To really understand the personality and story behind Poncho, you should probably watch our founder Kuan Huang on MSNBC.
