Full-Time Job: iOS Developer, Chicago, IL (Pathfinder Software)

Job Title: iOS Developer

Job location: Chicago, IL

Employer: Pathfinder Software

Employment Type: Full-Time Job

Job Description

There are a lot of iOS jobs out there; why is this one for you? For one, healthcare and medical device expertise will look great on your resume long after technology fashions have changed. (Besides, aren’t you sick of developing the latest iPhone tequila social marketing application?)  For another, we need complete developers who want to cross-train on Android, Ruby on Rails, .NET, HTML5, etc. Lots of firms talk about continuing their developers’ education, but we walk the walk.

If this sounds like the job for you, read on.

Pathfinder Software is looking for talented and team-oriented iOS developer who want to develop commercial software products. We do a lot of exciting work for both start-ups who have never launched a product and established firms looking to launch something new or redesign an existing product, in industries ranging from medicine and education to consumer services.

We have built a strong reputation as the top software development firm in Chicago that incorporates lean startup thinking, lean user experience design and agile development, and are looking for more great team members to continue accelerating. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in software design and learn alongside them while delivering the best possible product to our clients. At Pathfinder you will be trusted to fill the client’s needs. You will have the opportunity to see projects through to completion, from information gathering, through testing, all the way until your software is used in the clients live system.

We take great pride in our work environment. We believe in highly collaborative teamwork, informal communication and pairing with co-workers to puzzle through tough problems and generate creative ideas.

Our office is a big open loft space in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, with lots of whiteboards, glass and distressed hardwood, with walls covered in project artifacts, with after work activities like yoga, game nights and happy hours.

iOS Developer | Requirements:

  • Familiarity with Agile methods including Pair Programming, Test-Driven Development, Refactoring, Simple Design and Continuous Integration
  • Extensive experience with iOS development and deployment
  • Experience with bluetooth stack a big plus
  • Mastery of OO design and design patterns
  • Proven ability to lead small teams and mentor junior colleagues
  • iOS open source community involvement
  • You will thrive in a team environment and be supportive of the give and take needed to work in a highly effective way with others
  • You get a great sense of pride building strong and empathetic relationships with clients

If this sounds like it might be up your alley, we’d like to hear from you. Submit a resume and cover letter telling us what you’re passionate about and how you approach software development.
