Full-Time Job: iOS Engineer, San Francisco, CA (Sōsh)

Job Title: iOS Engineer

Job location: San Francisco, CA

Employer: Sōsh

Employment Type: Full-Time Job

Job Description

iOS Engineer | Responsibilities:

  • Own, architect and build our iOS app. Sōsh helps people connect with the world around them. Our iPhone app is now the way our most engaged and passionate users interact with us. You will implement the features that wow and dazzle them as they navigate around their cities.
  • Push the boundaries of iOS. You will collaborate closely with our product & design leads drawing on your depth of knowledge of the platform to drive our iOS app to meet our company objectives.
  • Bring best practices to our development process. You will be responsible for increasing the quality and testability of our app, as well as improving our flexibility and the speed with which we ship new releases.

iOS Engineer | Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience of shipping great apps. Whether built individually or as part of a team, you have a wide range of experience. People look to you for insight on where iOS is going and what it’s capable of.
  • Depth of experience in the iOS frameworks. From AutoLayout to CFNetwork; from CoreData to CoreText. You are familiar with both their benefits, and their pathological quirks.
  • RESTful server-side integration. You’ve built iOS apps which communicate to servers using industry standard approaches (REST, JSON, etc.)

When You Apply

Include links to the App Store for apps you’ve built (telling us which pieces you worked on if it was a team effort), along with a link to an app you wish you’d built, because it inspires you to be a better engineer.

About Engineering at Sōsh

Sosh is built by a small and dedicated team of engineers. You can count us on the fingers of one hand, but we deliver outsized impact through engineering skill and a culture that multiplies our productivity.

We primarily build using Python. Django, JavaScript, MySQL, Redis and Objective C are key tools on our belt, but we are always investigating new tools that will help us build better experiments faster.

We love learning. We’re working on crazy-hard problems. When faced with something we haven’t tackled before, our adrenaline soars. And once we’re done, we take the time to teach the rest of the team what we discovered.

We’re ruthlessly focused on shipping. We recognize that there’s always a better way of doing something, but accept that pragmatism outweighs purism.

We care passionately about the product. We don’t just accept a spec and code—we aim to understand the problem we’re solving for our users, and regularly offer ideas of how the app, process and company can be improved.

Our Mission

There’s a whole wide world out there, full of things to do and amazing places to explore. Yet people so often do the same things over and over. We’re on a mission to put the city’s most memorable experiences at your fingertips.

Because life’s too short to be bored.

Company Description:

We’re a small and talented team founded by former Google and Slide employees. We’ve raised $15 million from amazing investors, including Khosla Ventures, Battery Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Keith Rabois, Mike Krieger, and Naval Ravikant. And we’re just getting started.
