Job Description

We are currently seeking a Mobile Applications Architect San Jose, CA to join our Global Enterprise Solutions Team. This position will report to the Vice President, IS Business Development.

VeriFone is looking for a seasoned mobile application architect to join our Enterprise Solutions organization and contribute to several mobile projects within the organization.

The position is hands-on and the successful candidate is expected to have experience writing code for at least one major mobile platform as well as drive architectural decisions for iOS, Android, Windows Mobile and Blackberry platforms.

Mobile App Architect | Responsibilities:

• Able to understand UX concept/designs and fill in the gaps to drive detailed implementation towards an outstanding user experience.
• Exceptional coding & design skills in one of the following: objective-C, Java, C++.
• Expert at performance optimization of client/server/web services applications.
• Several published and currently listed applications on Apple Application Store or Google Play mobile.
• Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams on up-to-date mobile technologies and development practices.
• Experience working with and influencing remote development teams, including offshore developers
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Ability to clearly communicate and articulate architectural decisions to key stakeholders, developers, architects, and to cross-functional teams.
• Understands security frameworks and mobile application security.  Works with security architects and developers in creating applications that are secure payment applications.

Mobile App Architect | Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar area is required.
• MS degree a plus!
• 15+ years of software engineering experience that includes writing code.
• 5+ years of software architecture experience with a mix of enterprise and mobile.
• Expert-level knowledge of at least one major mobile platform (iOS or Android) is required, knowledge of several mobile platforms strongly preferred
• Mobile (iOS, Android) application development experience using native SDKs as well as cross-platform development platforms is a must.
