Every day, the team faces the challenges of scaling to support our increased booking volume, building a unified global platform and adapting to the newest mobile technologies, all while keeping our apps fast and our UX clean and simple. To accomplish this, we utilize whatever technology is best to solve a particular problem, not necessarily the one we’re currently using.
Android Developer | Responsibilities:
- Develop Android applications for Android phones, tablets and other devices that run the Android OS (or derivatives).
- Push the envelope with what is possible with Android, keeping the product true to our core product values of Simplicity, Beauty & Usefulness, but extending it where we can take advantage of Android-specific functionality.
- Work with the rest of the team to extend our APIs and other systems to support your ideas.
Android Developer | Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of Android SDK, Java and related technologies.
- A passion for the Android platform – you consider it the best, use it yourself, know it well, and want to make perfect apps for it. You have published apps in Google Play and they have stellar reviews.
- Excited by and familiar with the tools and methodologies we use for building great software, including Git, Java, Gradle, Fragments, and a multitude of open source libraries for a great development environment.
- Appreciation for Agile development, continuous integration and beautiful efficient code
- Smart yet humble. Take pride in what you build, question the status quo so we can improve, defend your ideas and respect others’ opinions. Everyone here is focused on finding the best solutions to the problems we face.
- Independent and product-focused. We expect our developers to also define big portions of the products they build.
