What You’ll Be Working On

As an iOS developer, you’ll assist in building a digital product from the ground up with a world-class, passionate team that helps millions of people take control of their money. We’re looking for someone to play a key role in helping us building a native iOS team while running technical point with third-party app development shops.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for servant leaders who are passionate about delivering excellence—people who see both the forest and the trees (yes, that is possible). We’re looking for collaborators. Facilitators. Individuals who are great at pulling the best out of others and then getting out of the way. We want those who believe the impossible is possible and are energized by connecting with others. We need professionals who have experience selling ideas and achieving business goals.

All applicants must be comfortable discussing scalability, performance, database optimization, object oriented design and memory management.

iOS Developer | Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Objective C or iOS programming experience
  • Experience developing highly interactive applications integrating with APIs
  • Experience working with native push message systems
  • Experience with the App Store submission and review process
  • Experience with UI frameworks such as Cocoa/Cocoa Touch
  • Experience working with profiling and automated/integration testing tools
  • Solid understanding of iOS SDK development and iOS Human Interface Guidelines

You must be willing to commit to becoming an accomplished Objective C/Swift programmer within the first 90 days of hire.

iOS Developer | Preferred:

  • Passionate about the intersection of human behavior and multi-device experience
  • Schedules time off to watch live Apple keynote(s)
  • Excited about alternative ways of delivering quality experiences in the native mobile space: i.e., Phonegap, RubyMotion, etc.
  • Expert Jar-Jar skills in Angry Birds ‘Star Wars’ OR Town Hall level 10 achieved in Clash of Clans

Who We DON’T Want Applying

We definitely don’t want someone who is just looking for a j-o-b—someone who will punch a clock and give the bare minimum to get a paycheck. We operate in a team environment and collaborate on a daily basis. If you want to work by yourself, go play solitaire.

No Toadstools

Pushing the limits of technology is a part of the average workday. That means we expect our team members to push the envelope on their own skills as well. If you aren’t growing, you’re planting roots in your chair as the light from your screen transforms you into a toadstool . . . and, well, who would want that?

WHO WE ARE

We Really Believe in This Stuff

Every day, we get to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We are providing hope to those who need it and helping customers get out of debt and build wealth. We’re showing leaders in business how to grow, serve and lead their company. We’re encouraging people to transition from their day job to their dream job. It’s why we do what we do: work that changes lives and gives hope.

Work in Your Strengths

Our goal is to help position each team member in a role that plays to their strengths and sets them up to win. Know yourself well enough to know what you do well and, just as importantly, what you don’t.

Win or Lose as a Team

Our team collaborates to create user experiences that positively impact lives. Everyone on the team is responsible for bringing new ideas, perspectives and solutions to the table. Starting with day one, we want your voice as part of the conversation. Collaboration does not equal positioning and pushing others off the ladder. Rather, collaboration has the ability to benefit your paycheck. As part of a competitive compensation package, we include a share of the business we do on the web. Our aim is to serve each other and our customers well.

Have a Life

Life is important, and we want you to have one! That’s why we work eight-hour days with very few late nights. If normal is missing family events and pulling teeth to get time off, then consider us weird. But we’re obviously doing something right—our team has voted our company one of the best places to work in Nashville seven times!

About the Team

  • 60 dedicated web personnel
  • 39 developers (scaling to 50!)
  • Here’s our tech stack.

Our development team works to put out high quality software products that meet or exceed industry standards. For instance, we currently score 10/12 on the JoelTest.

Company Description:

We’re a privately-owned and operated debt-free company comprising more than 400 people focused on a single mission:

The Lampo Group. Inc. provides biblically based, common-sense education and empowerment that give HOPE to everyone in every walk of life.

A Few Things We’d Like You to Know

Our interview process is more involved and thorough than you are used to. But don’t be scared; our process helps us make sure we find you the best seat on the bus. Hey, by the way, EntreLeadership is a great insight into our culture and the inner workings of our company. Listen to our EntreLeadership Podcast!

After you submit your application, please send a code sample of your best work for review. Submitting a sample will help us determine your skill set as part of our technical review. Following your application, we will want your sample within one week, so mark your calendar to remind yourself!
